Lora Evon Brooks

Lora was born in Ashburn, Georgia, to the late Harvey Ezekial Whiddon and Bennie Ruth Whiddon. She lived a life marked by faith, love, kindness, and devotion to her family. Her greatest hope was found in Jesus, and she now rests in the presence of the Savior she loved and faithfully followed.

Lora was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Janice Brooks Owens.

She leaves behind her loving husband, John Rex Brooks; her daughter, Becky Brooks; her grandson, Jacob Brooks; and her sister, Elaine Pritchard. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who were blessed to know and love her.

Lora was a member of Damascus Baptist Church in Appling, Georgia, where her faith and love for the Lord were an important part of her life. She cherished her family deeply and leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and cherished memories that will continue to live on through those she loved.

Though her family grieves her earthly absence, they find comfort in the promise of Scripture that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Lora has finished her earthly journey and is now home with Jesus.

Services

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road, Martinez, GA 30907.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens on Wrightsboro Road in Grovetown, Georgia.
