AUGUSTA, GA. –Mrs. Louise Ansley Harrell was called home by her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 31, 2010. She was the daughter of the late Claude and Katherine Ansley. She was married to the late Joseph Wesley Harrell for sixty four years.
She is remembered as a lover of animals, an avid gardener, and excellent cook. She enjoyed talking about her Lord and Savior. She cherished listening to her older daughter, Claudia, a vocalist and voice instructor, sing. Her music taste varied greatly. She and her husband shared the love of Christian music. Her smile was lovely. During the same period of time in her home she cared for two sets of relatives: both her elderly parents until their deaths (6 years) and her mother-in-law (2 years) prior to her placement in a nursing home. She was a member of the First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church of Augusta.
For over thirty years she served as bookkeeper for Colonial Stores/Big Star. She earned ten-year pens for her dedication and excellent performance.
Survivors include two daughters, Claudia White of Hartsdale, N.Y.; Joan Moore of Evans, GA; four grandchildren, Georgia Ann Moore of Clarkston, GA; Andrea Moore of Evans, GA; Cherie White of Hartsdale, N.Y.; and John Robert White of Hartsdale N.Y.; and one great grandchild, Amanda Dawn Portoles Moore of Evans, GA.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at 4:00 P.M. in the chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Wieberdink officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Gene Homschek, Bobby McCorkell, Sherman Branch, Bill McGraw, Bill Perkins, and Dean Harrell.
The family would like to thank all of the caregivers at Lake Crossing Health Center and Regency Hospice for the loving care given to Mrs. Harrell during her illness..
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 3, 2010, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road, Martinez, GA 30907 (706-868-9637).
