My thoughts and prayers are with each of you. I knew Mrs. McGahee from Lake Park Church. She was a wonderful, dedicated, very sweet Christian lady. She had a beautiful smile and her face gleamed with the love of Christ. I remember Mr. and Mrs. McGahee first when I was in their Training Union class. I really enjoyed their leadership and learned a lot. They were always kind and sincere and treated us with respect. I appreciated their teaching me much about the Bible, and especially about prayer. In later years, I thoroughly enjoyed interacting with Mrs. MaGahee on an adult level, and continued to learn much from her--especially from her endearing Christian spirit and joy, even when she may be going through a difficult time. She reminded me several times that my mother, Julia Weatherly, first invited her to Lake Park. If I remember correctly, it was while they were waiting at a bus stop down town, which we did often, as we rode the bus to town many times.
May God comfort you and give you peace in the days ahead. I know that Mildred will want you to remember the joyful, good memories, and rejoice that she is in Heaven now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, with Mr. McGahee and Pate, and others who have gone before her. Blessings to you all.
In Christ's love,
Janice Weatherly Williams
