Born on July 14, 1950, Phylis was the cherished daughter of Selena Brown and the late Raymond Carl Lockaby. A 1968 graduate of Easley High School, she went on to build a successful career in project management, contributing to construction projects around the globe.
Phylis was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Easley. She had a deep love for plants and was a talented floral arranger. She found joy at the lake, spending countless happy hours camping and boating alongside her husband and dear friends. Above all, she adored her Yorkshire Terriers, Gracie Anna and the late Hannah Belle, who were truly part of the family.
For 25 adventure-filled years, Phylis shared life with the love of her life, Kevin Dean Harville. Together they made their home in Martinez, Georgia, where she was fortunate to form lasting friendships and unforgettable memories.
Phylis leaves behind her mother, Selena of Easley, SC; stepsons Chris Harville (Erica) of Columbia, SC, and Derrick Harville (Hannah) of Mandeville, LA; grandchildren Kelsie, Bryson, Daphne, Ellie, Aubrey (Berry), and Hunter; sister Vicki Lockaby Smith (Tommy) and niece Jill Smith, both of Easley; nephew Gage Smith (Marti) and great-nephew Eamon, all of Anderson, SC. She is also lovingly remembered by her close friends Eileen Long, and Susan Guilfoyle.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kevin, her father Raymond, and dear friends Elaine Ellison, Kathy Hutcheson, and Karen Olsen.
A celebration of Phylis’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to the CRSA Humane Society in Augusta, Georgia.
