Ruel Don Martin

Mr. Martin loved his family very much. He was a man of many talents who loved working in his garden and his shop. He was a former member of the Shade Tree A’s. Mr. Martin’s family describes him as being very patient, would do anything for anyone and had the very best sense of humor.

Mr. Martin is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Hattie Martin; sisters, Barbara Martin Tankersly and Betty Jean Sizemore; and grandson, Jason Wesley Walker. Survivors include his loving wife of 18 years, Glenda Newsome Martin; daughters, Toni Cosby (Danny), Tracey Jordan (Jeff) and Sandra Sherry (Eric); step-children, Michael Davis (Ginger), Jamey Davis (Kristi) and Tammy Bosarge (Corey); brother, Thomas Martin (Judy); grandchildren, Daniel Cosby, Ryan Cosby (Kayla), Cody Martin Bohler, Haley Doherty, Dylan Davis, Brianna Davis, Dalton Davis, Colton Bosarge and Jacob Davis; great-grandchildren, Dylan Walker and Lily Cosby who will be born in September; his four-legged fur babies, Cason, Toby, Max and Duke; and many other friends and family who loved him dearly.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm, Monday, July 31, 2017 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home on Columbia Road. Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at the Columbia Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Newsome and Brother Clift O’ Bryan officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
