Ruth McGraw Goodbread

Martinez, GA. – Ruth McGraw Goodbread went to be with the Lord at the age of 83 on December 19, 2013 surrounded by her children at her home. Born in Avera, GA and a member of Martinez Baptist Church, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Jim Goodbread, her 3 brothers; Ellis McGraw, Homer “Knotty” McGraw and Henry T. “Buck” McGraw.

Mrs. Goodbread is lovingly remembered by her sons, Michael Suber and Jim (Carol) Suber of Augusta, GA; her daughters, Dianne Jackson (Helen) of Lawrenceville, GA and Cindy (Ernie) Sallas of Greenville, SC. She had 3 grandchildren, Lauren Suber-Harris, Christopher Sallas and Daniel Suber; 2 great-grandchildren, Bayleigh and Bryson Canter.

Mrs. Goodbread worked in the restaurant industry most of her life. She was employed at University Grill, Lakeside Diner and established her own restaurant, Ruth’s Restaurant of Augusta. She was well liked and respected for her food service and hospitality. Prior to retirement she expanded her business to 3 locations.

The family will receive friends at Elliott Sons Funeral Home on Columbia Rd. 6 – 8 pm on Friday, December 20, 2013.

Funeral services will be 11 am, Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Martinez Baptist Church with Pastor Phil Winsett officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be David Goodbread, Christopher Sallas, Ernie Sallas, Brandon Cross, Chuck Hayes and Dale Cox.
