Shadrieka Wells

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Shadrieka “Rieka” Johnson Wells who departed this life on June 19, 2026, at the age of 65. A lifelong resident of Augusta, Georgia, Rieka was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose love and kindness touched countless lives.

Rieka was known for always putting others before herself. No matter the challenges she faced or how she may have been feeling, she was always there to help, listen, and care for those around her. She was a light in the lives of many, bringing comfort during difficult times and lifting the spirits of everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—listening to her favorite old-school music, especially songs like “Hole in the Wall,” cooking Sunday meals for family and friends, and serving as a mother figure to so many. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and love, and her presence had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and valued. She loved to travel, dance, try her luck at the casino, and enjoy life to the fullest. Her energy, laughter, and vibrant spirit were felt everywhere she went.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Santonio Hobbs, Brandon Wells, Greg Wells Jr; her mother, Jennie Collins; her father Harrison Johnson; her siblings, Sandrato Moore, Shrion Johnson, Sharietta Johnson, Sabra Johnson, and Gabriel Collins; her beloved grandchildren, Cameron Hobbs and Simone Hobbs, Latrell ; her nieces, Sandriato Gonzalez, Dayna Thomas, Kaira Perry, Julia Johnson, Jennie Outen and Anna Johnson; her nephews, Michael Moore, Harrison Thomas, and Garrian Collins; along with a host of other relatives and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.

Though her physical presence is no longer with us, the love, strength, and compassion she shared will continue to live on through the lives she touched. Her legacy will remain in the memories she created, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave so freely.

Rieka will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
