Mr. Prunier was born in Ocean Port, New Jersey on February 18, 1950, the fifth child of seven children born to the late Edward and Mildred Prunier. Born into a military family, he traveled the world. He shared beautiful memories of Munich, Germany and expressed that he never wanted to leave. He was raised in Methuen, Massachusetts and began his career as a union pipefitter. Career advancements moved his family and himself to Martinez, Georgia in 1987. He then worked as a nuclear procedure writer until his passing. He was a hardworking man that dedicated his life to provide for his family.
He loved Sunday dinners with his children and grandchildren, playing golf with his dear friends and family and was a devout Catholic. He enjoyed watching the New England Patriots and Red Sox play and never missed a game. Wayne loved joking around with his family and enjoyed making others laugh. Through hard times and good, he always found humor.
He was preceded in death by Howard (Danny) Prunier, Edward (Kenny) Prunier, and Neil Prunier. He is survived by his fiancé, Deborah Matney, his five children, Charlene Prunier, Michelle Myers (Jeffrey), Andrea Prunier, Jessica Jenkins (Timothy) and Steven Prunier, seven grandchildren, Justin (Annalise), Breanna, Brandon, Ethan, Julia, Nicklas, and Matthew, and great-granddaughter, Emberly, his siblings Marilyn Sullivan, Barbara Aufiero (Kenneth), and Bruce (Heather) Prunier, and a long list of nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services
Friends and family may join us on Thursday 9/23/21 from 6 – 8pm at Elliott Sons Funeral Home at 4255 Columbia Road. On Friday 9/24/21 at 11am there will be a Mass held at St. Mary’s on the Hill Catholic Church located at 1420 Monte Sano Avenue.Following Mass services, there will be graveside burial at Westover Memorial Park located at 2601 Wheeler Road. Everyone is welcome to join us for his Mass Service, however, if you choose you may go directly to the graveside at 12:15.
