William "Billy" Wooten

November 18, 1955 – July 22, 2025

William F. Wooten, lovingly known as Billy, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the age of 69.

Billy attended Evans High School and was raised by his devoted foster parents, James and Louise Hair, who instilled in him a strong sense of family and love.

He is survived by his brothers, Ricky Wagoner and Stuart Waller, and by the love of his life and caregiver of 44 years, Fran Munnerlyn. Their bond was one of unwavering companionship and deep affection.

Billy had a deep love for animals, especially his beloved bunny, Trouble, who brought him great joy. He was an avid outdoorsman who found peace and happiness in hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends along the Ogeechee River. His days were made brighter by the frequent visits from Andrew and Joseph Kraus, who brought warmth and friendship into his life.

Billy will be remembered for his kind heart, his love of nature, and the quiet strength he shared with those closest to him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 5:00 PM at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road, Martinez, GA 30907. The family will receive friends beginning at 4:00 PM, one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a local animal rescue in Billy’s honor.
