

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our devoted and cherished father, loving grandfather, and husband, Anthony John Tramontano. Surrounded by the love and comfort of his family, Anthony peacefully departed on August 27, 2025 in Kearneysville, WV. Anthony leaves behind the memory of his boisterous laugh, bright smile, and the legacy of his enduring strength and love.
Anthony was born on May 15, 1947, in Baltimore, MD to Frank and Rose Tramontano (nee DeMartino); he was one of four siblings. Anthony is an alumnus of Patterson High School. He later went on to serve in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he earned several accolades before returning to Maryland and starting his family.
Anthony is survived by his wife, Violet Elrod, and their children; Tammie Layte (Michael), Angelina Dinges (James Jr), Patricia Wellman (Andrew), Francesco Tramontano Sr, Christina Walters (Douglas), Anthony Tramontano Jr (Tiffany), and Violet Smith (Dale Jr); grandchildren, Austin, Ethan, Victoria, Isabella, Phoebe, Zachary, Alexavier, Francesco Jr, Haddlee, Roland, Chloe, Quinnlyn, Dylan, Dalylah, Gianna, Daphney, Dinah, Charlotte, Lia, and Sullivan “Oliver”; and great granddaughters Celine, Savannah, and Aria. Anthony is also survived by his sisters, Angela Tramontano & Patricia Andrews (Wayne), and many cherished nieces & nephews.
Anthony is preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Rose, his brother & sister-in-law Joseph & Sandra Tramontano, and his nephew A. Michael Ruggiero III.
A private celebration will be held in Anthony's honor for family and close friends.
