Benjamin Franklin " Frank" Bartles, 86, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 in the Palliative Care Unit at the VA Hospital in Martinsburg. He was born on Tuesday, March 7, 1933 in Martinsburg, to the late Eleanor Priscilla Bartles. Frank served in the U.S. Air Force as a MP and was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. He worked at Shenandoah Lanes for several years, retired from Peoples Life Insurance Company, and also worked as a part-time bar tender at the Moose in Martinsburg for several years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He enjoyed nature, gardening, playing poker, and Pinonchle. Frank is survived by one son, William "Todd" Bartles and wife Tina; daughter, Robin Bare and husband Brian; two granddaughters: Jennifer Helmick (Chris Gooden) and Rhiannon Helmick (Ivan Hood, Jr.); four great- grandchildren: Brianna Gregory (Justin), Kailee Robinson (Jay Todd Sams II "J.T."), Logan Robinson, and Ivan Hood III "Tre"; and four great great-grandchildren: Tyler, Easton, and Rowan Gregory and Wyatt Sams. He will also be greatly missed by his furry friends: Smokey and Diesel. Friends will be received on October 3, 2019 from 6 to 8pm at Rosedale Funeral Home. Services will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 2 pm at Rosedale Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrance contributions be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.

I considered myself a lucky woman when I married Todd, because I gain another father.
