Born on March 12, 1953, in Martinsburg, WV, to the late William and Eulah (Howell) Barger.
Carolyn loved enjoying a good drink and singing, she had a special way of bringing joy to others. She would often call family and friends on the phone just to sing to them, filling their days with her music, laughter, and love. She especially loved cooking for her grandchildren, always making extra food to share and making sure no one ever left her table hungry.
She is survived by her beloved children: William “Billy” Funk Jr., and Chante Cook; two siblings: Preston Barger and his wife Tana, and Chris Barger; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her sister Kathy.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Rosedale Funeral Home on Monday, September 21, 2026, from 2:00pm until the start of her memorial service at 4:00pm.
