

Carolyn Elizabeth Linton, a resident of Martinsburg, West Virginia, passed away on December 30, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on December 6, 1950, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Lyle and Glenna Laing.
Carolyn was a hard-working and thoughtful woman, known for her dedication to her community and family. She was a devoted volunteer at the Berkeley County Youth Fair for many years, where she helped prepare meals, supported Young Farmers, and served as a leader for the 4H Tomahawk Group. Her professional life was marked by her long tenure to Berkeley County Schools, where she worked and retired as a school cook, primarily at Rosemont Elementary.
Carolyn was the matriarch of her family and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Steve Linton; her sons, Craig Linton and Matthew Linton (Kriston); her grandchildren, Katelynn Linton (Aaron Scott) and Gracie Linton; and her great-grandson, Gracen Scott. Carolyn is also survived by her brothers, Jack Laing (Carol) and Mike Laing (Mary), and her sister, Edna Dixon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Pat Price.
Friends and family will be received at Rosedale Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at Falling Waters Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 11:00 am with live streaming available at https://www.facebook.com/share/1JsiquMgZa/. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
