Born April 27, 1922 in Greer, South Carolina, he was the son of the late F. Eugene Cannon and Minnie Lee (Winn) Cannon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond; his sister, Altha; his son, David; and his first wife, Daphne.
Mr. Cannon was a skilled bricklayer and performed his last job, with the help of his son, while in his eighties.
He is survived by his loving wife, Louise Cannon; two sons: Charles and Michael; two daughters: Cheryl and Lynn; grandchildren: Shane and wife, Jennifer, Robbie and wife, Alice Anne, David, and Randy; two nephews: Raymond and wife, Mary, and Richard and wife, Cida; one cousin, Wayne and wife, Nancy; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Rosedale Funeral Home on Sunday from 1-2pm. Funeral services will be held at 2pm at the funeral home with Pastor Harold Newsome of Cross Point Church of God officiating. Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.
