Charles A. Denton Jr.

Born November 2, 1942 in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Charles A. Denton Sr. and Marie Frances Denton.

Charlie was a member of First Baptist Church. He worked for General Motors for 37 years, ran his own antenna business, and umpired softball for over 40 years. He was also a member of the Elks and a member of the Moose.

He was an avid Martinsburg Bulldog fan and loved to travel with his family. Charlie was a very dedicated and hardworking man, who loved his animals.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 54 years, JoAnn Denton; two daughters: Debbie Hart and husband, Robert of Troy, Michigan, and Beth Lewis of Martinsburg; one brother, Doug Denton and wife, Cheryl of Martinsburg; and six grandchildren: Lauren, Jessi, Tanner, Peyton, Robert, and Allyson.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 6-8pm at Rosedale Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Berkeley County Humane Society.
