Charles Junior “Granny, Cricket, Chuck, or Dr.” Lee Sr., 79 of Kearneysville, peacefully departed this life on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family and the care of Hospice of the Panhandle. He was born on April 1, 1940 in Berkeley County, and was the son of the late Edward Lee and Dora Mason Lee. Charles was employed by Charles Town Race Track, and was in the Army Reserve. He retired from Jefferson County Public Schools. He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Muriel “Peggy” Iris Lee; four daughters: Stephanie Scippio and husband Martin of Pittsburgh, Tanda Emanuel and husband Paul of Martinsburg, Wendy Lee of Kearneysville, April Tennant and husband, Eddy of Shepardstown; two sons: Charles “Little Bit” Lee Jr of Kearneysville, and Steven Lee Sr. and wife, Edna of Kearneysville; fourteen grandchildren: Tiffany, Carlos, Mercedes, Muriah, Michael, Phillip, Eric, Tyler, Natilee and husband, Justin, DJ, Steven Jr., Justus, Alex, and Taylor; six great-grandchildren: Miracle, Brielle, LJ, Sean, Marley, Eliana and Haven Sowell; one brother: Andrew “Andy” Lee and wife, Linda of Martinsburg; one sister: Irma Sewell of Martinsburg and a host nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by grandparents: John and Emma Berryman Lee; three brothers: Harry Lee, Raymond Lee, and Edward Lee; five sisters: Ida M. Russ, Margaret Coles, Dora Williams, Betty Jean Lee, Martha Jane Lee Taylor, and a great-grandchild, Mackenlee Miner. A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 6-9 pm at Rosedale Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Rosedale Funeral Home. The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice of the Panhandle for their services.
