Earleen “Penney” Townsend, 53 of Martinsburg, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. Born on March 27, 1969 in Martinsburg, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Earl Clifford and Virginia (Mann) Townsend.
Penney worked in the public school system for some time, working as administration within the special education department. She then made the decision to change careers and devoted her remaining time to working as a home health care-provider.

When the weather was nice, she looked forward to taking road trips with John on their Harley.
Penney is survived by sons: Daniel (and Katie) Lambert, Tyler Lambert (and Sarah Shepherd); step-sons: Cody Atkisson, Trey Atkisson, Cole Atkisson; sister, Sharon Henry; grandchildren: Oliver Lambert, Bryson Atkisson, Elliana Atkisson; several nieces and nephews; and her loving fiancé and best friend of over 16 years, John Atkisson.
In addition to her parents, Penney was preceded in death by brothers: John LeMaster, Ronnie Townsend, Clifford “Earl” Townsend Jr; and sister, Linda Shifflett.
