Born July 14, 1932, in Hancock, Maryland, he was the son of the late Eugene Henry and Alberta Grace (Pittman) Norris.
A graduate of Hancock High School, class of 1951, Ed served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Episcopal Church since age 12.
Ed worked as a Traffic Engineer, State of Maryland Highway Administration for 38 years. He was a past Chairman of Washington County, Maryland’s Children’s Village, past Chairman of Washington County Traffic Advisory Committee, past President of Berkeley County, West Virginia Isaac Walton League of America, a member of Post 202, Funkstown, Maryland, American Legion, Martinsburg West Virginia, Elks, and Mercersburg, Pennsylvania Sportsmen’s Club.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara L. (Cross) Norris; daughter, Beth S. Wayne and her husband, Gordon Wayne; granddaughter, Elyssa Joy Wayne; and a sister, Alberta Wink of Tarpon Springs, Florida. He was preceded in death by sisters: Eldena Youngblood and Patricia Shank.
A memorial service will be held at Rosedale Funeral Home on Sunday May 20, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
