Evelyn was born on December 3, 1925 in Hampshire County, West Virginia, and was the daughter of the late Floyd and Della Foltz. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and was a member of Darkesville United Methodist Church in Inwood. She enjoyed playing cards, Scrabble, Pollyanna, putting puzzles together, and was an outstanding cook and baker. Evelyn was a Berkeley County poll worker, homemaker and seasonal worker at Musselman Plant.
Evelyn is survived by her four children: Cheryl A. May, Sylvia J. Himmelright, Brian L. Fansler, and Karen S. Fansler; grandchildren: Stephanie Burkett and Lori Himmelright; four great-grandchildren: Mason Burkett, Morgan Burkett, Aaliyah Himmelright and Madeline Dowis; and one sister, Norma Shade.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Donald Lee Fansler, infant son Donald Lee Fansler Jr., grandson Matthew Paul Himmelright, six sisters: Pearl Foltz, Annis Gerhardt, Geraldine Rice, Nina Morningstar, Blanche Shriver, Goldie Leonard and Thelma Stewart; four brothers: Earl Foltz, Herman Foltz, Eston Foltz, and Willis Foltz.
A viewing will be held 4pm-6pm on Wednesday, June 22 at Rosedale Funeral Home in Martinsburg.
A funeral service will be held at 12pm on Thursday, June 23 at Rosedale Funeral Home in Martinsburg, followed by interment in Rosedale Cemetery with the Rev. Stephon Knox officiating. Pallbearers will be: Brian Fansler, Perry Hollis, Wayne May, Ronnie Woollum, Mason Burkett and Marty Wright.
After services there will be a luncheon held at Darkesville United Methodist Church, 6705 Winchester Avenue, Inwood, West Virginia 25428.
