Born on October 5, 1951, in Olney, Maryland, to the late Agnes Louise and Willard King Sr.
Tommy was a man of many talents. He had a passion for working on and building cars, and he loved attending car shows where he could admire craftsmanship and share stories. Tommy spent many years building homes and creating handcrafted projects that his family continues to treasure. Whether he was in the garage, or out on the water with a fishing pole in hand, he found joy in working with his hands and making memories with those around him. His fishing adventures provided countless stories that will continue to be told for generations.
Above all, Tommy treasured his family. He had a playful spirit and was always teasing his grandchildren, and making everyone laugh. If you weren't smiling when you arrived to spend time with Tommy, you certainly would be by the time you left. His home was filled with laughter, love, and the kind of memories that last a lifetime.
Tommy is survived by his beloved children, Tonya King (Buck Gray), Tom King (April Mason), and Dallas King (Amber); six cherished grandchildren, Khloe King, Thomas King, Jordan Allen, Rebel King, Alora King, and Cordell King; one great-grandchild, Jalen Perry; his siblings, Peggy Prior, Joyce Pauline Barb (Jim), Janet Horton "Sissy," and Willard King Jr. "Bee" (Sherri); his lifelong companion of more than 30 years, Brenda Ballenger; and several nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Tommy is preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Kylee King; and his cherished great-granddaughter, Keyanah King.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Rosedale Funeral Home, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 10:00 am until the start of funeral services at 11:00am.
In honor of Tommy’s love for building and the pride he took in his work, his final journey to Rosedale Cemetery will be made in the truck he built—a fitting tribute to a life well lived and a legacy that will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
