Born May 22, 1956 in Frederick Maryland, he is the son of Emma Louise Chaney and the late George William Chaney, Sr.
George was employed at Aggregate Industries Millville Quarry.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 28 years, Katy Lee Chaney; three daughters: Kristi M. Chaney, Chantel C. Ricketts, and Charity A. Vickers; six grandchildren: Jeffrey, Tesia, and Jacob Ricketts, Haleigh and Skylar Hook, and Dominic Vickers; one great-grandchild, Logan Esswein; four siblings: Thomas Edward Chaney, Glenda Dorsey, Dale Herndon, and Mary Louise Dorsey; his uncle and aunt, Eddie and Eva Chaney; and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Richard Chaney.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 6-8pm at Rosedale Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.
