Helen E. Fox

Helen Elizabeth Fox, 87 of Martinsburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Canterbury Nursing Home in Shepherdstown. Born on May 31, 1932 in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Elmer W. Walker and Virginia Clark-Walker. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, Sarah Ellen and Charles (Skinny) Busey. Helen was a member of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of East Martinsburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George William Garfield Fox and her son George Robert Fox. Two sisters, Mary Ellen Walker and Rebecca Washington and three brothers James (Sonny) Walker, Elmer (Colonel) Walker and Fulton Walker. She is survived by one son, Stephen Fox (Alece) of Martinsburg; three daughters: Wanda White and Tina Fox of Martinsburg and Carolyn Mason (Charles) of Hedgesville; two sisters: Janet Warden and Beatrice Carter (Melvin) of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; close cousin, Delores Johnson of Alexandria, Virginia with whom she was raised like a sister; seven grandchildren: Heather Murray (Tommy) of Charles Town, Crystal, Denzel, and Yvette Fox of Glen Burnie, Maryland, Jasmine and Damon Fox of Martinsburg, and Kenton Mason of Hedgesville; and ten great-grandchildren: Cyrus, Heaven, Jael, Titus, and Keziah Murray of Charles Town, Levi, Zion, and Asa Fox of Glen Burnie, Maryland, and Aysha and Jamal Mason of Martinsburg. Friends will be received from 11am until noon on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Rosedale Funeral Home. Services will follow at noon and will be officiated by Elder Steve Johnson and Elder Carlton Nichols. Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.

Helen was a very sweet lady who cared deeply about her family. I was very blessed to know her. Her family has been important to my life for over forty years. Much love and prayers to the family and friends.
