

transporting her soul into eternity and releasing her spirit to join the man
who she had loved for 70 years. Her struggle is over.
Preceded in death by Howard "Buddy" Severs, the love of her life, in 2000, her mother, Anna, in Dec 1999, and her father, Joseph Tafarella, in 1983, she was the last of her immediate family. Her sisters Eleanore and Mary also preceded her in death.
Her strength was great as she held on when others would have failed.
She is survived by her daughters, JoAnn Mumma and Carroll, Taffy Severs-Horner and Jim, her granddaughter Rayna Cutrona and Mike, Plus her beloved great granddaughter Kaitlyn and her grandson Adam Mumma and Jessica.
Born February 22, 1922 in Cleveland Ohio, she grew up in the tenements of New York City coming to Martinsburg in 1946.
At age 40 she earned her GED then proceeded to become an LPN. She worked 20 years at the VAMC. She was an accomplished woodworker and artist and loved to make small crafts and give them to others.
There will be no viewing. Graveside services and interment of Helen and Buddy Severs will be held October 7th at 2 p.m. at Rosedale Cemetery in Martinsburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle in her name.
