Born July 4, 1956, Jack will be remembered with deep respect and lasting gratitude by all who had the privilege to know him. A resident of Hedgesville, West Virginia, Jack leaves behind a life marked by steady presence, genuine connection, and a rare ability to bring both skill and warmth into the everyday moments that matter most.
Jack was known for having the best stories to tell, shared with an ease that drew people in and made them feel at home. Just as memorable was his gift for working with his hands—an ability rooted in patience and know-how, and most clearly seen in his remarkable talent for repairing motors. In both word and work, Jack carried a practical wisdom and a generous spirit, and he was a best friend to anyone who knew him.
Jack is survived by his wife of eleven months Mary Laughlin; son, Michael Laughlin and wife Deena; siblings, Dawn Laughlin Ball, Susan Laughlin, and Mark Laughlin; best fur-friends, Sir WInston, Scoutie, Roscoe and Pepper; and numerous friends who will dearly miss him. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Laughlin, and son, Jack Laughlin III.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
