Jaime Lanette Lam Sayer, 41 of Martinsburg, went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2020 at her home with her family and close friend by her side, under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle. Born April 1, 1979 in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of Larry and Jeanie Flabbi Lam. Jaime was a 1997 graduate of Hedgesville High School. She loved playing sports and helped lead the Hedgesville Eagles softball team to the State Championship her senior year. She earned two scholarships for playing softball. She was employed at Lowes for 15 years and made many friends throughout her career. She was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed planting flowers and gardening and had a big heart for animals. Jaime was her own person who marched to the beat of her own drum. There was never a dull moment when Jaime was around and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her parents, Larry and Jeanie Flabbi Lam; her husband of 11 years, Douglas Sayer III; her daughter, Maggie Sayer; her sister, Shelly Compton and her husband, Steve Compton Jr.; her brother, Kevin Lam and his wife, Michele Lam; nieces and nephews: Brittany and Justin Compton, and Ashlyn and Brooke Lam; close cousin who was like a sister, Lorey Lam Butts; close friend, Keisha Everhart Swift; many cousins whom she was close with; her cats, Garfield, Stewey, and Lucy; and her basset hound, Hazel. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Millard and Marie Lam; her maternal grandparents, Dante and Blanche Flabbi; and her father-in-law, Douglas Sayer II. Friends will be received on Saturday from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 11am at Full Gospel Pentecostal Church. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Berkeley County Humane Society.

jaime,
there are so many memories with you through the years that will forever stay with me. all the family dinners at your mom and dads house. The camping out in their backyard for the weekend and the night you went into labor with Maggie. I don't think I ever came over the mountain, route 70 and then route 81 so your uncle Francis and I could get to the hospital. You were and always will be our special niece. All the laughter that you gave us will always be in our hearts. Lexie and Cassidy always wanted to come to Aunt Jeanie and Uncle Larry so they could play with you. Our hearts are breaking but we know we will meet again. Love you with all our hearts. Uncle Francis and Aunt Kim

I first met Jaime when she came to work in the paint department at the N. Winchester Lowe’s. She was a bubbly , funny and caring person. There was never a dull moment when working a shift with her. Her love for dogs was over the top. She would buy large boxes of dog treats to keep at the paint desk and always had some in her vest pocket. Dogs would run to see her. My heart breaks for her family .

My heart goes out to the family 💙 I had the pleasure of meeting Jaime at the pharmacy I used to work at. She always had a smile on her face, and I remember the first time she brought Hazel, the basest hound puppy into show us. She was so happy. I also remember saving the cow tails for her, one of her favorite candies. She was an amazing lady, and will be greatly missed 💕

A couple of summers ago, I was taking a walk through our neighborhood when it started to storm hard. Jamie was coming home and saw me in front of her house. Without hesitation, she pulled over and said get in. I will drive you to your house. I had met her one time through her cousin, Laurie, but I instantly liked her. She didn’t have to stop and bring me home , but out of the kindness of her heart, she did. I’m really sad that she departed life so early and praying for her friends and family. Love to all.. fly high, Jamie!
