Born July 13, 1936 in Palatine, WV, he was the son of the late Benjamin D. Atha and Garnet McMillion.
James served our country in the United State Marine Corp for twenty years, which included 5 years in the Vietnam War. He was an active member of Inwood Assembly of God Family Worship Center.
In additions to his parents, James is preceded in death by twin sons, James and Donald; and brothers, Danny and Charlie.
James is survived by his wife of 42years Mildred Atha; four children, Carolyn, Donna, Mark, and James; step son, Ronald; two brothers, Bejamin and Johnny; five sisters, Joann, Judy, Linda, Janet and Rose; and numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 6pm to 8pm at Rosedale Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be at 11am on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Rosedale Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow at Rosedale Cemetery with Military Rites.
