Born April 24, 1949 in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Harry William Butts and Myrtle Davis.
James is survived by two sons: Jim Butts and fiancé, Gidget, of St. Johns, Florida, and Eric Butts of San Diego, California; four step-daughters: Toni, Tonya, Tabitha, and Taffeney; three grandchildren: Kiandre Brown, Tevonte Walker, and Gavin Butts; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Danielle Butts; and three brothers: Harry Butts, Parris Davis, and Kenneth Butts.
Friends will be received at Rosedale Funeral Home on Friday May 29, 2015 from 1pm until the time of the funeral service at 2pm. Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.
