James Custer

James Stuart Custer, 87, of Tabler Station Road,Inwood WV passed away on April 2 under the care of Hospice. Born March 4, 1937 in Berkeley County, he was the son of the late Stewart James and Virginia Carrie (Fizer) Custer.

He retired from Acme SuperMarket with over 30 years of service. He was a lifelong member of Tabler Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder, Sunday school teacher, choir member and involved in the maintenance of the church building and grounds. He volunteered for CCap in Martinsburg.

Jim enjoyed fishing, scuba diving, hiking,camping, canoeing and traveling especially to Vinalhaven Island Maine with family.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy L. Custer, two daughters Cindy Fultz and husband Brian from Inwood, Pam Hogmire and husband Hank from Gerrardstown, two grandchildren, Renee Pugh and husband Brandon from Raleigh NC and Michelle Hogmire and Davio Cianci from Chicago, IL, great grandchild Zoe Pugh from Raleigh NC , cousin Terry Taylor and husband Ron from Inwood, sister in law Eva Jane Wightman of Martinsburg, sister Kathryn Ford from Charlotte NC, nephew Butch Custer and wife Jane from Falling Waters, WV, and nephew Kevin Ramsburg and wife Kim from Charlotte NC.
