
Born August 22, 1927 in Hopwood, PA, he was the son of the late James P. Lincoln, Sr. and Florence W. (Chuck) Lincoln.
After graduating high school, Jim joined the Marines for four years, including a tour of duty on the USS Wisconsin in the Pacific as a corporal. He told anyone who asked that he was on the Wisconsin for two years, four months, and twenty-six days.
Jim worked for GSA in Washington, D.C. for thirty-two years before retiring to The Woods in Hedgesville with his wife, Metaxia, a native of Greece. He attended the Hedges Chapel in Hedgesville for over twenty-five years.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Metaxia Lincoln; four children; two step-children, Philip and Alexandra; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many friends.
Graveside Services with military honors will be held Tuesday, October 28, 2014 in Rosedale Cemetery with Rev. Jack Vineyard officiating.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at Hedges Chapel Pavillion, 668 Mountain Lake Road, Hedgesville, WV 25427, immediately following graveside services. All are invited.
