James Clayton Quinn

Jay Quinn, 64, of Martinsburg passed away on February 9, 2022 at Hospice of the Panhandle inpatient facility. He is survived by his wife Rita, son JC (Jenna) , sister Cindy Jones, brother’s Robbie and Mark (Janet) Quinn and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Dorothy , brother Mike, nephew Robert Z. Quinn, III and his loyal companions, Butkis and Jeter.

Jay was a graduate of Martinsburg High School and was a member of the 1977 undefeated Bulldog Football team. He was selected first team – defense to the Class AAA All State Team. He later played football and baseball at Potomac State College and Concord University.

Jay was an avid sports fan who remained loyal to the Saint Louis Cardinals, Washington Redskins and the Los Angeles Lakers regardless of their record. He coached youth sports teams locally for a number of years.

He retired in 2019 from Plygem, Inc. where he worked as a facilitator for 24 years.
