John W. Ambrose

Born September 13, 1929 in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Charles and Grace Ambrose.

John was a veteran from the Merchant Marines and Army-Air Force. John’s passions included clock collecting and spending time with family. He was an active member of the Open Arms Ministry. John was a hard worker that retired from Lockheed and had owned multiple businesses throughout the years.

He is survived by his daughter Janis Ambrose; step children, George Ayres and Debra Myers; grandchildren: Michael, Kandi and husband Chad, Gennifer, and Amanda; great-grandchildren: Austin, Ethan, Beu, Brittany, Katelyn, Tiffany, Megan, Alyza, and Savannah; Step grandchildren: Tera, John, Rebecca and husband Ronald, Rachel, and Elizabeth; and childhood friend Donna-Lee Haines.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers: Charles L Ambrose and Donald Ambrose, and two children Linda Ayres and John Ambrose Jr.

Friends will be received at Rosedale Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6-8 pm. Graveside services will be on Wednesday at 2pm at Rosedale Cemetery.
