John Spidle

John Ernest Spidle, born on October 6, 1974, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on October 5, 2025, at the age of 50. A resident of Martinsburg, West Virginia, John was known for being thoughtful, beloved, and hard-working.

John's career spanned many years at Quad Graphics in Martinsburg, West Virginia, where he worked for 19 years. He most recently served as a custodian at Berkeley Heights Elementary for Berkeley County Schools, where he was honored with the Distinguished Service Award in March 2024 for his outstanding service. John cherished his role at the school, viewing his co-workers and students as family. In addition to his primary work, he enjoyed a side job cutting trees with his friend Mike Barclay.

John is survived by his daughter Kimberly Spidle and her husband Patrick of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, his daughter Alexis Spidle, and his granddaughters Kailynn and Ariella Spidle. He is also survived by his partner of 25 years and fiancée, Susan Aikens-Linton, and his mother, Janet Spidle of Martinsburg, West Virginia, previously of Fort Loudon, Pennsylvania. John had a deep affection for all his fur babies, especially their dog Sophie Starr. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry "Skip" Spidle of Fort Loudon, Pennsylvania, his brother, Harry James "Jimmy" Spidle, and his infant daughter, Jessica Spidle.

John enjoyed hunting, Pittsburgh Steelers football, and watching wildlife at his home. He was known for his love of BBQ and spending time with family and friends. Always willing to lend a helping hand, John was a great support to his fiancée's parents, Bea and Bob.

As a committed member of Blairton United Methodist Church, John will be dearly missed by family, friends, and co-workers.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Blairton United Methodist Church on October 18, 2025, at 10 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to the Humane Society, 554 Charlestown Road, Martinsburg, West Virginia, 25405, or to Blairton United Methodist Church,1093 Blairton Road Martinsburg wv 25404. , Martinsburg, West Virginia.
