Joseph Henry Bowers

Born May 31, 1927 in North Mountain, WV, he was the son of the late David Henry Bowers and Martha Othello Myers Bowers.

He retired from Continental Clay Brick Plant in 1991. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three grandsons, Robert Rhoe, Joseph Showalter, and Billy Showalter.

Joseph is survived by six children: Arvella “Kay” Showalters Bowers and her children Penny, Crystal, Billy and Joey; Della Virginia Bowers Allport and her two daughters, Tammy and Tina; Samuel Joseph Bowers and his son Jeremy; Robert “Bobby Joe” Henry Bowers, Sr. and his son Bobby Joe, Jr.; Gertrude Joann Bowers Rhoe and her children, Richard, Robert, Steve, and Julie; Othella Maye Bowers Parrish and her children, Thomas, Angel, Jeff and David.

He is also survived by two step daughters and their children Brenda White and her children, Roberta, Reba, Connie and Margaret; Joanne Brown and her children, Mackie, Kelly, Candi, Travis, Joshua, Jimmy and Timmy; and a numerous amount of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 7pm to 9pm on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Rosedale Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 11 am on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Rosedale Funeral Home.

Interment will immediately follow at Hedgesville Cemetery in Hedgesville, WV.
