

Born May 10, 1921 in Yonkers, New York, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Rose Ann Casey Casper.
A WWII veteran, he enlisted in the US .Army in May of 1942 and went on to become an airplane armored gunner. He was assigned to the 323rd bomb group 453rd bomb squad in England and was a top turret gunner on the Martin B-26 Marauder. He was awarded the Air Medal w/10 oak leaf clusters and the Distinguished Flying Cross among other medals. He having flown 63 missions was honorably discharged July 1945.
Joe met and married the love of his life Hulda M. "Betty" Moll who has preceded him in death.
He retired from NY Telephone Co. after 35 years and was a member of St. Leo's parish and the Knight of Columbus assembly #2348.
He is survived by his children: Michael and his wife, Dana, Joanne, Theodore “Ted” and his wife, Karen, Matthew “Matt” and his wife, Susan, and Edward “Ed” and his wife, Doreen; twelve of his thirteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and was expecting his fifth great-grandchild.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4pm at Rosedale Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at St. Leo Catholic Church on Saturday at 10am. Interment will follow in St. Leo Catholic Church Cemetery.
