Junior Holiday Faircloth, 85 years old, of Martinsburg, WV 25404, left this world to be with Jesus on March 12th, 2026, with his wife Alice F. Faircloth by his side. He was a devoted husband, a loving father to his two boys, and a man whose faith, strength, and steady presence shaped the lives of all who knew him.
Born on 13 March 1940 in Martinsburg, WV, Junior lived a life not well to do, but to a loving family of 10 brothers and sisters, and five half-brothers and sisters. He was a respectful young man and was taught hard work by his father. He never cared about the color of a person’s skin – he considered everyone the same. Work ethics, doing what is right, fair chance, and working together for a common good. He was a faithful Christian who gave his life to working for the Lord and his family. He held the position of Youth Director for over 15 years, was a Deacon and on the Board of Trustees. His faith was not only something he believed, but something he lived each day. His personal relationship with the Lord was very special to him and he mentioned it many times.
Junior proudly served in the United States Army for six years. He served both Active Duty and Reserve and worked in Munitions and later moved to being a Chef. His time in the military reflected the sense of duty, discipline, pride in his country and loyalty that stayed with him throughout his life. He rarely cried and was old school, but he couldn’t contain his emotions during a 21-gun salute.
He spent 35 dedicated years working for Corning Glass, where he earned the respect of coworkers and friends through his hard work and integrity. He also was the union president where he made sure, he was fair, the company stuck to the contract and that the workers worked and fulfilled their sworn duties. He retired from Corning Glass after a long and faithful career.
Beyond his work and service, Junior truly enjoyed life. He loved playing golf with his very close friends, took great pride in planting and caring for our family garden – where he taught his boys a work ethic and to take pride in the work you perform. He wasn’t an outward or showy type person, his privacy and the quietness of the moment is where he was most comfortable. Working together as a family and just relaxing outside on a beautiful day was a simple pleasure that brought him joy.
Life and things were hard and not always easy, but Hoss loved and provided for his family and made sure our needs were met. He was a cherished husband and a proud father of two sons, and the love he gave his family will remain one of his greatest legacies. He will be remembered for his faith, his loyalty to God and family, his leadership and doing what is right, and the quiet strength that carried him through life.
Junior “Hoss” is survived by his wife, Alice Faye Faircloth; his sons, Brian Kelly Faircloth and Mark Anthony Faircloth. He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother – Frank and Ida Faircloth.
The viewing will be held on March 19, 2026, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Rosedale Cemetery. The funeral services will follow the viewing starting at 12:00 noon. Pastor Jack Rudy, a dear friend for 50+ years, will be officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
The family would like to express their heart-felt gratitude to the Martinsburg Veteran Affairs hospital and all of the doctors, nurses and the caring personnel at Community Living Center – A (Lighthouse) for them around the clock care and graciousness to our family during this rough time. Thank you is not enough for doing what we could not do for his care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his widowed wife or Hedgesville Baptist Church for the furtherance of God’s ministry.
