Born in Lansing burgh, NY, on March 27, 1950, he was the youngest son of the late John and Eleanor Missenis and graduated from Catholic Central High in Lansing burgh in 1969.
He was the loving husband of Elaine Missenis of Leominster, MA, who currently resides in Hedgesville, WV, and they were married for 41 years.
He was a loyal husband and intellectual who marveled at the universe and God’s many creations and nurtured an appreciation for the eight cats who resided with him at his death. As an avid listener and maker of music; he could play many instruments. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and received a medal of commendation upon his discharge. An active member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1365 and a News Channel Weather Watcher for many years, his service will be missed by the community.
He is survived by his brother Bob Missenis, his daughter Melanie, his son, Allen Missenis and grandchildren Maria Missenis, Gabriel Missenis, Abigail Missenis and Elise Mott. His absence will be missed by his surviving family and numerous other neighbors and friends of the family.
Extended from the family is the deepest and sincerest gratitude and love for Greg and Linda Snider for their selfless devotion and support during this time.
A visitation will be open to the public and located at Rosedale Funeral Home, Martinsburg, WV Thursday November 8, 2018 1-3pm followed by a funeral mass at St. Bernadette’s Mission in Hedgesville, WV on Friday November 9, 2018 at 9am.
