Born on March 5, 1973, in Charlestown, WV, Lewis was the son of Julia M. Allen Berry and the late Lewis C. Berry Jr.
Lewis was proud to have served his country as a member of the United States Army. His military service was a meaningful part of his life and reflected his strength, dedication, and determination.
Lewis was also passionate about coaching, where he was a part of many sports leagues and organizations in Hagerstown, MD.
Lewis was a one-of-a-kind person. He was known for his unforgettable personality, his sense of style, and the confidence he carried wherever he went. Lewis had a way of making himself known and never apologized for being exactly who he was.
Surviving, in addition to his Mother, Julia M. Allen Berry, are his children, Jalen M. Oates, Akira Dawn Berry, Keely S. Knode, and Lewis See Berry Jr., and his stepson, Darren M. Williams; his 2 grandchildren; his Sisters, Shawnell Berry and Enna Newton; he is also survived by his special person, Amanda L. Burker, and his nieces and nephews.
Those who knew Lewis will remember his confidence, his humor, his style, and his unmistakable personality. In true Lewis fashion, he would say, “I’m good at everything I do.” To those who loved him, that confidence was one of the many things that made him unforgettable.
Though his time with us has come to an end, the impact he made and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held at Rosedale Funeral Home, located at 917 Cemetery Road Martinsburg, West Virginia 25404, on Monday September 14, 2026, from 11am until the start of the Funeral Service at 12 pm. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.
