Linda Kaye Davis, 62, was born on August 27, 1958 and passed away on February 20, 2021 at Hospice of the Panhandle with her children by her side. Linda was a Martinsburg, WV native, spending a large period of her life residing in Strasburg, VA. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Edward and Jule Delia Jones; younger brothers Edward Lee Jones and Roger Lowell Jones; and best friend Loretta Henry. Her loving memory is survived by husband Joseph Wilson Davis; children Timothy Brad Anderson, Jamie Lee Cox and husband John Wayne Cox, Jennifer Renee Anderson and Justin Douglas Davis; sisters: Darlene Miller and Shirley Funk; grandchildren and great grandchildren: Ashley Grady, Christian Anderson, Julia Anderson, Mariah Cox, Dillon "Clay" Figgins, Kimberley Santmyers, Courtney Cox, Bella Gray, Kynzie Grady and Skyielar Grady.
Linda’s character was one rooted in kindness and a need for helping others. She lived a full and purpose-driven life. She was a med tech and had a CNA certification in the greater part of her career, devoting her skills to those in need at nursing homes and senior centers around the Front Royal area. She had a rich work history at National Fruit, Heritage Hall, Sutherlands, Loving Arms, and The Eagles Club. Bosses and awards have reflected on Linda’s big heart and strong work ethic, and would say that she spearheaded any team that was lucky enough to have her. She always believed in doing the right thing, even if it wasn’t always the easy thing. Her biggest love and pride was her family. She always had a quick wit to bring a smile to your face, but was also a cheeky prankster, never leaving a dull moment.
Perhaps her greatest love language was feeding her family. Linda loved cooking and baking for others. Some of her famous dishes included baked mac and cheese, fruit salad, coleslaw, and honey ham. Another crucial part of Linda’s identity was being an artist. She was naturally gifted and self-taught. She created numerous children’s books and short stories. She could draw anything, but was especially interested in creating landscapes and florals. Her artwork has been displayed in North Middle and Shepherd University, and she often volunteered at elementary school art classes to help teach children. She also spent time passing her love of the arts onto her children and grandchildren who continue to draw and paint today. She was a talented, loving person that will be dearly missed by all.
Visitation for Linda will be at Rosedale Funeral Home on Monday, March 1st from 6-8pm. Funeral Services will begin Tuesday, March 2nd at 1pm followed by a dinner for family at the Bedington Ruritan Club.
