

Born on March 29, 1968, in Smethport, Pennsylvania. Lorne was the son of Lloyd and Lois (Severance) Hackett who predeceased him in death at a young age.
Lorne was adopted by Susan Riss Pellish of Shepherdstown, West Virginia and Guy H Gerhart MD. of DuBois, Pennsylvania at the age of 10.
Lorne graduated from DuBois Area High School in May 1986 and served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps including participation in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Later in life, he went on to attend Shepherd University, in Shepherdstown West Virginia, receiving his bachelor’s degree in political science in 2008.
Lorne dedicated his professional career to law enforcement, retail management and auto mechanics.
Lorne taught Motorcycle Safety courses in Berkley County, West Virginia.
He also volunteered training German Shepherds for law enforcement.
Known for his keen sense of humor, creativity, technical skills, and love of animals including his cockatiel, Ted, Lorne touched the lives all who knew him.
Following his military service in California, Lorne returned to the East Coast residing in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Lorne is survived by his adoptive parents, Guy H. Gerhart of DuBois, Pennsylvania and Susan Pellish of Shepherdstown, West Virginia, his brother, Jonathan Pellish Ph.D. of Washington, D.C. and his longtime friend Cecelia Feaster.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
