

Born June 10, 1931 in Selinsgrove, PA, he was the son of the late James E and Dethel B Hoffman Master.
Marlin joined the army in 1950 and was later deployed to S. Korea until the end of the war. Later, he completed his GED, and one year of college at Washington Missionary College (Washington University) in Takoma Park, MD. He began to learn the masonry trade and eventually started his own business, Master Masonry. With the exception of working in hospital maintenance for 4 years (Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Gaithersburg, MD), masonry was his lifelong trade.
Marlin attended the Williamsport Seventh-day Adventist Church, Williamsport, MD of which he was a charter member. Marlin loved to read, work in the yard and garden, and enjoyed listening to classical music or watching a ballgame.
Marlin is survived by his three children, James and Robin (Long) Master of Shoemakersville, PA, Timothy Master of Gerrardstown, WV, Marlynn (Master) Shelley of Pittsburgh, PA; seven grandchildren, Tenielle, Whitney, Andrew, T.J., Matthew, Michael, and Shannon; seven-plus great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Marlin was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Delores (Pohle) Master, as well as eight sisters and six brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023 at Williamsport Seventh-day Adventist Church, 16421 Lappans Rd
Williamsport, MD 21795 with Pastor Reinhardt Stander officiating. Burial service will be in Rosedale Cemetery with military honors.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Rosedale Funeral Home & Cemetery, Martinsburg, WV.
