Mary C. Malott
October 31, 1935 – January 1, 2021
Mary Catherine Malott, 85, of Falling Waters went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 1, 2021.
She was born on October 31, 1935, in Berkeley County and was the daughter of the late Robert Arley Stilwell and Esther Elizabeth Stilwell.
Mary attended Martinsburg High School and upon graduating in 1953, became an instructor for the West Virginia School of Beauty Culture of Martinsburg. She later went on to operate her own salon out of her home for several years. On October 20, 1956, she and Philip Malott married and she became a devoted wife. They raised three wonderful boys together fulfilling her desire to become a loving and dedicated mother.
Mary loved fishing and crabbing and spent many happy vacations enjoying these activities with family and friends. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed spending Sunday dinners with her children and grandchildren.
Mary was a woman of strong faith who attended Independent Bible Church and became a member in 1972.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Philip G. Malott; two loving sons Rodney D. Malott (Roya Kim) of Falling Waters and Eric A. Malott (Kim Lavonne) of Falling Waters; two beloved grandchildren Ashley B. Malott (Keiko) of Martinsburg and Carly D. Malott (Bennet) of North Carolina and one special great-grandson, Judah, of North Carolina as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Harold Stilwell, sister Norma Nicklin, brother Robert Stilwell and her dearly missed son Jeffrey C. Malott.
The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers and support from countless family and friends. A special thank you to Dawn Hoffmaster and Linda Pearrell for their unwavering care and compassion.
A graveside service with Pastor Mark Johnson and Van Marsceau officiating will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at 1:30 in Rosedale Cemetery.
