Melva Ann Priest

Melva Ann Priest, 88 of Martinsburg, formerly of Florida, passed away on October 19, 2025, at the age of 88 in Kearneysville, WV. A faithful and hard-working individual, Melva lived a life marked by dedication and service.

Born on August 16, 1937 in Sioux Falls, SD, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Goldie Hansen.

Throughout her career, Melva worked a variety of jobs, demonstrating her commitment and versatility. She finally retired in 2016 at the age of 79, after many years of diligent work.

Melva's personal life was deeply rooted in her faith. She was saved at the age of 4 and remained actively involved in her church throughout her life. Her contributions to the church included music, singing, and playing instruments. Her favorite scripture verse was Romans 8:28, a testament to her enduring faith. She will be remembered fondly for her unwavering faith and her hard-working spirit.

She is survived by her children: Michele (N. Phillip) Woods, Lisa (Robert) Blackwell, and Jay (Staci) Priest; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Priest; and one grandchild.

Private services will be held at a later date.
