Michael Duane Peterson, 74, of Shenandoah Junction, West Virginia, passed away on July 13, 2026. Born on April 22, 1952, in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Duane and Ivalu Peterson.
Mike was happiest when surrounded by family. He was known for his warm heart, quick wit, and unwavering loyalty to the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. Heaven just gained its most dedicated fan - though we suspect Mike will be keeping a close eye on the Pirates bullpen and questioning the Steeler’s play calling from above.
Michael is survived by his wife, Doris Peterson; daughter, Yvonne Peterson; son, Brian Peterson (Amy); grandchildren: Tahj, Daejah, and Janiah; siblings, Cheryl Peterson, Pam McNamara (David), Deb Dennis (Richard), Tim Peterson, and Dan Peterson (Vicky).
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Rosedale Funeral Home on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 12 pm to the start of Funeral Services at 1 pm. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.
