Nathan Shimp Sr.

Born August 22, 1930 in Jones Spring, he was the son the late William James and Edna (Weaver) Shimp.

Nathan was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having reached the rank of SSgt.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn (Gano) Shimp; one son, Nathan Shimp, Jr of GA; one daughter, Gail D. Ebrahimi of VA; one step-son, John Albert Easterday of Martinsburg; and two step-daughters, Rosemary Lemere of MD, and Sylvia Jean Easterday of Martinsburg.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Renee Clark, Jay Lemere, Gabriel Rogers, Daniel Rogers, Steven Rogers, Carolyn “Trish” Easterday, and Candy Lynn Easterday; and eleven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and seven sisters.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7-9 PM at Rosedale Funeral Home, Martinsburg.

Funeral services will be 11 AM on Friday at Rosedale Funeral Home, Martinsburg, with Rev. Wayne Price officiating.

Burial with military honors will follow in Pleasant View Memory Garden, Martinsburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Palliative Care Unit c/o Martinsburg VAMC, 510 Butler Ave., Martinsburg, WV 25405.
