Paul was born on April 9, 1947 to Paul M. and Margaret J. (Caton) Barney. He was a graduate of Martinsburg High School and was employed by local businesses in Berkeley County including The Bon Ton, McDonald's restaurant and Norborne Nursing Home at different times during his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul M. Barney. He is survived by his mother, Margaret J. Hess and his twin brother, Larry J. Barney; a nephew, Shannon Barney; as well as numerous cousins and other relatives.
There will be no viewing and services will be private.
Arrangements are by Rosedale Funeral Home and Cemetery in Martinsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his honor may be sent to: Hospice of The Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, West Virginia 25430.
