Paul "Lenny" Leonard Smith

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Paul Leonard "Lenny" Smith, who left us on June 6, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on December 19, 1958, Lenny was a devoted Husband, beloved father, grandfather, brother, nephew, cousin and friend whose passion for life, music, and family touched everyone who knew him.

Born to late Wesley and Marianne Smith, Lenny grew up with a love for music that stayed with him his entire life. He was a talented drummer whose love for rock music was matched only by his enthusiasm for muscle cars and the open road. Whether behind a drum kit or under the hood of a classic car, he brought intensity, rhythm, and heart to everything he did.

Lenny shared a deep and lasting love with his wife, Valentine Smith, who stood by his side through life’s many seasons. Together, they built a home full of music, laughter, and unconditional love.

He was the proud father of four daughters: Jesika Smith, Rebeka Smith, Brittany Carlo, and Kayla Baldridge. He also welcomed with love his sons-in-laws, Anthony Carlo and Jesse Baldridge, who became a part of his family and a huge part of his heart. His legacy continues through his nine cherished grandchildren, one of whom sadly preceded him in death. They brought endless joy and pride to his life.

He is also preceded in death by his two sisters, Eleanore Newton and Laura Smith. Though gone, they remain a part of his story and spirit.

Lenny will be remembered for his fiery spirit, sense of humor, quick wit, deep love for his family, and the music that echoed wherever he went. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and the beat of a drum that will never fade.

A celebration of Lenny's life will be held on August 28, 2025, at 93 Lee Street Martinsburg, WV 25404.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Lenny's memory by turning up the volume on your favorite rock song, taking a drive with the windows down, or sharing a story about the man who lived life his way—loud and full of love.
