She is survived by her husband Albert L. Jackson, two daughters, Sandra Marchese and husband Gino Marchese, Teresa Heflin and husband Mike Heflin, and a sister Dixie Hefner. Priscilla also had five grandchildren, Anthony Marchese, Derek Heflin, Joshua Heflin, Giulianna Marchese and Michela Marchese, and one great grandchild, LunaBelle Heflin. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Virginia Whitacre.
Raised on her family farm, she excelled in school and became very active in school activities including cheerleading and band. While attending Musselman High School she met her husband Albert and graduated in 1961. Following in her family’s footsteps, she attended Shepherd College and majored in Education.
Priscilla spent her career and life teaching and supporting hundreds of children. She was a teacher at Stonewall Elementary in Frederick County, VA, and Berkeley Heights Elementary, Valley View Elementary, Mill Creek Intermediate and Gerrardstown Elementary schools in Berkeley County, WV.
Whether it was in the classroom, in athletics, or at home with her grandchildren and family, she was always ready to teach, share knowledge, and support children wherever she could be of assistance.
Service will be held at Rosedale Funeral Home on January 9, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Family and friends are welcome to gather at Darkesville United Church following the service.
