Richard Martin Aase

Richard M. Aase, age 76, passed away peacefully due to natural causes on November 23, 2024. A celebration of life service will be held at the Dunellen Hotel, in Dunellen, NJ on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 12:00 pm.

Richard was born on August 17, 1948, in Brooklyn, NY to Catherine (Owens) and Olaf Aase. He is predeceased by his mother, father, and sister, Catherine Aase Nieski. He spent most of his life in New Jersey before moving to Leesburg, VA and then Martinsburg, WV. He served his country proudly in the Armed Forces during the Vietnam War from October 1968 - June 1970. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge and Bronze Star Medal for his duty.

Richard’s profound love was a gift he shared with his family, close friends and acquaintances. His greatest passions were music and a love of the outdoors, especially fishing and camping.

He will be remembered fondly for his love of family and the traditions, his kindness and love that he passed along to his children, Alicia Bosse of Dunellen, NJ and Shannon Aase of Leesburg VA, son-in-law, David Bosse and three grandchildren, Aubrey, Dean and Dylan.
