Richard E. Moreland

Born August 23, 1943 in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Everett and Mildred Moreland.

Richard attended Martinsburg High School. He worked at Firestone for 15 years and retired from Essroc after more than 30 years.

He was an avid hunter and was a member of the National Rifle Association, the Glengary Bow and Gun Club, and Tri-State Four-Wheeler where he built and raced jeeps and trucks.

Richard will be sadly missed by his best friend and wife of 16 years, Elizabeth I. Moreland of Jones Springs; two stepsons: Walter L. Green, Jr. of Inwood and Anthony W. Green of Beckley; three daughters: Kandi Murphy and husband, Larry of Falling Waters, Kathy Moreland of Falling Waters, and Pam Ross and husband, Steve of South Carolina; two granddaughters: Ashley and Asia Royer; two great-grandsons: Jordan and Jayce Delmotte; one sister, Elaine Netzler of Arizona; and two nephews: Chris Nicewarner and wife, Tina and Eric Nicewarner and wife, Sarah; and one great-niece, Julie Nicewarner.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 4-6pm at Rosedale Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Jones Springs Cemetery.
