Shannan D. (Holden) LeVardi, age 48, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at Berkeley Medical Center. She was born October 9, 1970, in Waynesboro, to Marvin “Gene” Holden and Peggy (Fogle) Dawison. She recently celebrated 30 years of marriage with her husband, Gerald “Jerry” LeVardi, on April 22.
She was very passionate about helping people and animals. Shannan worked as an EMT-B for many years at Summit Point Motorsports Park and later as a manager with the Berkeley County Humane Society. She was a very kind person who made sure nobody left her house hungry, and she placed everyone’s needs above her own. Nothing made her happier than spending time with family and friends, and making people laugh with her genuine personality. Her love for animals saved many misfit critters that wouldn’t have had a chance without her compassion and understanding.
Shannan is survived by her husband, mother, and step father Mark Dawison; her daughters Brittany Grogg and Alisha LeVardi; her grandchildren Jesse Gene and Addison Grace; her brothers Jason and Douglass Holden and her sister Gabrielle “Gabby” Furry, as well as many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
If anyone would like to make contributions for the family, please just provide a donation to the Berkeley County Humane Society. A celebration of life party will be communicated to family and friends at a later date. Per Shannan’s favorite saying, “if you leave hungry or sober, it’s your own darn fault.”
